GenCyber is a nation-wide grant program funded by the National Security Agency (NSA). The 2018 GenCyber program provides summer cybersecurity camp experiences for middle and high school STEM teachers to learn cybersecurity principle, techniques and tools for K-12 education.

Goals

The goals of the program are to help all STEM teachers understand correct and safe on-line behavior, increase diversity and interest in cybersecurity and careers in the cybersecurity workforce of the Nation, and improve teaching methods for delivering cybersecurity content in K-12 computer science curricula.

Old Dominion University’s GenCyber summer camps are a part of the GenCyber program and will recruit 10 middle and high school middle and high school STEM teachers to learn cybersecurity principle, techniques and tools for K-12 education. The summer camp takes place on Old Dominion University’s Main Campus in Norfolk, Virginia.
