Christine Behle is a graduate student in the University of Utah’s Master of Public Administration program. She has a Bachelor of Public Relations from Utah Valley University and is focusing her graduate studies on public policy.

Alex Bond is a graduate student in the University of Utah’s Master of Science in International Affairs and Global Enterprise program. He has a passion for international communication and specializes in French, Italian, Portuguese, and Mandarin Chinese.

Alison Cañar is a graduate student in the University of Utah’s Master of Public Administration program and former middle school English teacher. As a new mom, she has a particular interest in researching policies that help working parents maximize family time.

Anna Cushing is a graduate student in the University of Utah’s Master of Science in International Affairs and Global Enterprise program. She earned her undergraduate degree in Asian Studies and Chinese. Anna’s primary region of interest is China.

Luiz Aurelio de Santana Luz is an American-Brazilian graduate student of the University of Utah’s dual Master of Public Administration and City and Metropolitan Planning programs. He holds a Bachelor of International Relations from Universidade Paulista UNIP.

Michael Dillman is a graduate student in the University of Utah’s Master of Public Administration program and plans to graduate in Spring of 2021.

Russell Facer is a graduate student in the University of Utah’s Master of Public Administration program. His goals include a career in local government administration following his graduation.

Andre French Lastre is a graduate student in the University of Utah’s Master of Public Administration program. He is a father of three and currently works for the Utah Department of Health leading a team of COVID-19 Contact Tracers.

Santiago Garcia is a graduate student in the University of Utah’s Master of Public Administration program. Santiago works at University of Utah’s Print and Mail Services as the customer service manager. During his free time, he enjoys playing tennis and disc golf and also enjoys gardening with his wife and playing with his two dogs. Santiago is fluent in French and Spanish and loves to travel and get out of his comfort zone.

Mishael Garz is a graduate student in the University of Utah’s Master of Public Administration program. She works at a Salt Lake City non-profit trying to prevent houselessness in the community. Mishael loves dogs, gardening, a daily mug of tea, and tending to way too many houseplants.

Taylor Greenwell is a graduate student in the University of Utah’s Master of Public Administration program. He has an Bachelor of Science in political science from Weber State University and a Master of City and Metropolitan Planning from the University of Utah. Taylor works as a city planner for the City of South Salt Lake.

Mauricio “Mo” Laguan is a graduate student in the University of Utah’s Master of Public Administration program and Gender Studies. His research focuses on intersectional, critical, and feminist approaches to racial and social justice. Mauricio passionately works towards closing social inequities through informed policy implementation, culturally competent management, and leadership development.

Shykell Ledford is a graduate student in the University of Utah’s Master of Public Administration program, focusing on local government. She’s happy and learning something new every day in her position on the Salt Lake County Council’s Central Staff. Shykell is a Utah native and enjoys all that the state and its incredible people have to offer.

Sharah Meservy is a graduate student in the University of Utah’s Master of Public Administration program. She has worked in the nonprofit sector for several years and currently works as the Education Coordinator for Plan-B Theatre in Salt Lake. Sharah’s research area of interest is diversity and inclusion.

Christine Posvitak is a graduate student in the University of Utah’s Master of Public Administration program. She is interested in the intersection of environmental policy and social justice. Christine hopes that her chapter in this book can serve to inform public transportation policy in Utah.

Sam F. R. Roberts is a graduate student in the University of Utah’s Master of Public Administration/Master of Public Health dual-program. They have a background in reproductive health education, interpersonal violence prevention, and addressing health disparities amongst marginalized populations.

Raissa Umba is a graduate student in the University of Utah’s Master of Public Administration program. She is from the  Democratic Republic of Congo and aspires to work with nonprofits around the world.

Kristen VanLeeuwen is a graduate student in the University of Utah’s Master of Public Administration program. Her main emphasis is centered around nonprofit work, but her interests include women’s healthcare and local and state politics. Kristen works at Huntsman Cancer Foundation as an event coordinator and is looking forward to what the world will bring after graduation in May 2021.

Logan Waechtler is a graduate student in the University of Utah’s Master of Public Administration/Master of Public Health dual-program. He currently works for the Utah Department of Health and enjoys learning about all things related to women’s health. When he’s not working or in school, Logan loves spending time with his wife and two kids.
