Laura married Roland Ferdinand Schmidt from Altenburg, Perry County, Missouri in 1938 with their first home being west of Cherokee, Oklahoma and then moving in 1943 to a farm about a mile southwest of the Martha and William homeplace.

Ella married Herbert Gilbert Arthur “Gib” Krueger from Farrar, Perry County, Missouri in 1941. They first lived with Martha and William on the homeplace. Then in 1944, Martha and William retired to Alva, Oklahoma and sold their farm to Ella and Gilbert.
