      1. The woman and boy on the back row are thought to be relatives. The woman seems to be posed as if familiar with William Kirmse – She could be William’s oldest sister, “Mary” (Kirmse) Doernhoefer – her facial features are similar to other portraits of Mary.
      2. The boy could be the son of Mary Doernhoefer, Edward Julius Doernhoefer, who was born 31 May 1896 and would have been about 14 years old in this picture – His facial features are similar to other portraits of Edward.
