Biography

Alwin Adam “Bud” Rauh, Jr., son of the late Alwin A. and Marie (Wenninger) Rauh, was born December 25, 1920, on a farm southeast of Alva, and passed away November 19, 1999, at Share Medical Center in Alva, Oklahoma, at the age of 78 years, 10 months, and 24 days.
Bud attended Pleasant Valley and Lutheran Grade Schools and the Northwestern Teachers College High School. He farmed with his parents until August, 1942, when he enlisted in the United States Navy.  He served in the Pacific War Theater and was honorably discharged in November, 1945.  He then returned to farming. On January 25, 1948, he was united in marriage to Norma Kirmse and they lived on a farm southeast of Alva.
He was baptized in the Zion Lutheran Church in Alva on February 13, 1921, and Confirmed on March 25, 1934, and served on many church boards and committees.  He was also active in several community organizations.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, and 1 sister.
Bud is survived by his wife, Norma, of the home; two daughters, Kathleen Earnest and her husband, Gary, of Alva, and Cynthia Randolph and her husband, Joe, of Perryton, Texas; his grandchildren, Sage Earnest and Savanah Earnest of Alva, Tobin Randolph and Lacee Randolph of Perryton, Texas; and Dustin and Shelly Earnest and Siera of Alva, Taren and David Smith of Waukomis, Oklahoma; two brothers, Russell Rauh of Cherokee, and John Rauh of Alva; two sisters, Mickey Kletke of Alva, and Esther Clark of Amarillo, Texas; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
