A CLEAN TECHNIQUE IS USED FOR NON-INVASIVE PROCEDURES AND IS NEVER USED FOR SURGICAL PROCEDURES IN OMS!
• Use clean technique if staff or objects will touch intact skin, and intact mucous membranes
• Clean technique refers to the use of routine hand washing, hand drying and use of non-sterile gloves
Clean Technique is appropriate for:
• examining patient
• obtaining vital signs
• taking radiographs
• taking impressions
• suture removal
• treatment of Alveolar Osteitis (Dry Socket)
