Articulating Your Commitments to Accessibility in Teaching and Learning
At the end of each module, we will ask a couple of questions to get you reflecting on and applying material to your practice. We encourage you to spend about 5-10 minutes on each set of questions and to jot down or type up a few notes.
These reflections will build as you go and culminate with an opportunity to:
- Integrate your reflections on accessibility into your Teaching Philosophy;
- Document your participation in this training and other contributions to Accessible Education in your teaching dossier, professional portfolio, and/or annual record of scholarly and pedagogical activities; and
- Identify and commit to 4-6 practical things you can do to integrate Accessible Education principles into your teaching practice over the next 4-6 months.
Self-Reflection
To get started, take a few minutes to contemplate the following questions:
- What are you most interested in learning as you review this resource?
- Reflecting on a lesson or course you’ve recently taught, or are preparing to teach, what are 3 barriers that learners may experience in your classroom or training environment?
- What teaching tensions related to disability/accessibility/equity would you like to explore and address over the next 4-6 months?
