Practice 1
Sing each of the diatonic melodies with correct pitches, rhythms, and solfège syllables. Memorize as many as possible.
Practice 2
1. Collect and copy additional diatonic themes from the music literature. Look for examples with interesting melodic, intervallic, and harmonic features.
2. Convert some of the memorized diatonic melodies into alto or tenor clef. Transposition may be necessary.
