More questions

For faculty: Play a game of inquiry and asking questions, such as jeopardy style.  Give a topic and then the student is prompted to ask every question they can think of and write them down in a thought cloud.

Or

For students: Pick a simple topic. Set a time for 5 minutes. Take those 5 minutes to write down every question that comes to mind about every part of the topic.

For example, you could pick an animal. Write down questions about the animal’s body, how they survive, where they live, their history, or how many there are. Organizing the questions isn’t necessary, but one question will probably lead to more questions. If you get stuck, go back through the list and let previous questions prompt further questions.
