59 Wrapping Up

Wrapping Up

This chapter has introduced you to the purpose of research; how to distinguish between primary and secondary sources; how to recognize the qualities of credible sources; how to evaluate sources for credibility, relevance, and appropriateness; and how to integrate and cite sources using quotations, paraphrasing, and summary. That’s quite a lot of information to hold in one’s brain, so if you forget any of what you’ve read, feel free to revisit the pages of this chapter as you move through your writing process. It will also be helpful to revisit this chapter as the nature of your research process changes from one assignment to the next.

In the next chapter, we’ll take a closer look at considerations of style. But before we move on, click onto the next page for an activity designed to support you in moving forward with your research process.
