Aural Canal Irrigation

  • Aural canal irrigation should not take place if there is a known ear infection, tubes present in the tympanic membrane, or suspicion of a tympanic membrane perforation.
  • Forceful installation of the irrigating solution can rupture the tympanic membrane.
