After watching the LinkedIn course video on audio/video and practicing the corresponding exercise. I found myself struggling the most with the finer nuances of media API configuration. It’s easy to confuse different elements if they’re not properly spaced, but once the organization of my coding was accounted for, navigating the exercise become a lot more clearer. Joseph Labrecque (Senior Interactive Software Engineer at Adobe) shared an invaluable resource on the nitty-gritty details of the literal implementation of media in web development. What the LinkedIn course doesn’t provide is information on HTML5’s position in the larger context of web development. In Robert Gravelle’s resource, “Top HTML5 Features & Goals: DOCTYPE, FIGURE, and Form Enhancements,” the clear goals of the newer (at the time) HTML5 are established and contrasted with it’s previous iteration (HTML4). Another resource can be found a blog composed by Maria Rozhdestvenskaya called “The Ultimate Guide to Embedding Video on Your Website.”

. In this blog you can find information on the ramifications of choosing a proper video hosting site, something I couldn’t really find elsewhere. Also, other information that might’ve been lost in your peripheral vision can be in her blog. Such as the finer nuances of SEO, analytics or data collection.
