Ever wondered what your users may be thinking when they first go onto your site? If you are like me, and you want it to be perfect, yet functional, then you should consider usability testing! As heard from the expert Steve Krug’s video on usability testing on Digital.gov University, a great way you can improve your website to be user friendly is by doing usability testing.

What is usability testing?

Steve Krug, a 20+ year consult on usability testing, say that usability testing is an easy and effective method that uses user based feedback to improve your website’s overall function as well as accessibility and appeal.

How do I start usability testing?

It’s as simple as getting a volunteer or a small group of volunteers and watching them access your website. The feedback they give you can help you recognize any mistakes, how to better functions, and any other ways it can be better it.

Why is it important?

Getting user feedback is always going to be important to your website in many aspects such as attracting readers, customers, and viewers to interact with your website. Also, you may not notice simple flaws or areas you could work on if someone doesn’t point them out to you!
