Web design and development

In this part, the chapters discuss web design and development and what it means to have a career in website building. Topics include the different coding languages you need to know, the importance of coding, a few different ways to create websites, and the key terms for web design and development. To understand what is essential to have on your website, you must build on your understanding of user experience. To create a website, you must know how to use coding languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. But if this becomes difficult, there are other ways to create your website, such as Webflow.

Chapter 2.1, “Everything You Need to Know About Writing Code,” describes coding and how you would choose which coding language to use for each task on your website. The chapter also provides tips on learning how to code, such as searching for helpful resources on the internet, downloading a code editor, practicing, and joining an online community.

Chapter 2.2, “The Importance of Learning How to Code,” describes why it is essential to learn to code. Some reasons listed include opportunities for other careers and strengthening your brain.

Chapter 2.3, “UI/UX Design Within the World of Web Design and Development, Making Visitors Happy,” explains the importance of learning about User Interface and User Experience for creating websites because site visitors want a quick and easy experience in finding the answers they are looking for from a site. Some key terms in this chapter are interaction design, wireframing, information architecture, and usability.

Chapter 2.4, “Beginner’s Web Coding with Webflow,” describes what Webflow is, its features, and how you would use it to create your website. It also explains the pros and cons of using this website builder and mentions other website builders you can use.

After you have read this part, you will feel more prepared to begin creating your website. Then, you can start on the next part, HTML and Markup!
