Accessibility Statement

The contents of this textbook were compiled with the principles of universal design in mind to ensure accessibility for all users and readers. We are committed to designing a textbook that responds to the needs of all readers and, as such, have incorporated the following features:

  • Content has been optimized for those using screen-reader technology (including headings, subheadings, and descriptions for all essential images and tables).
  • All text displays the same font and is black on white background; at no point is information conveyed or emphasized through color.
  • There is an option to increase or decrease font size in the upper right-hand corner of every page.

In addition to the web version, this book is available in other file formats including pdf, epub, mobi, and various editable files; you can contact Allegra Villarreal directly for copies of the latest version of the textbook in any of these formats.

Pressbooks’ Accessibility Policy

Pressbooks is built on WordPress and follows the latter’s Accessibility Coding Standards, which require that “All new or updated code released in WordPress must conform with the [Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0] at level AA.” You can read more about Pressbooks’ commitment to accessibility here.

While we strive to ensure that the resource is as accessible as possible, this textbook is dynamic and new content is being added every semester. As a result, issues in accessibility may still exist. Please let us know if you spot anything so that we can address unintentional errors on our part:
