With Bush’s recent passing away some are getting carried away

One of the best? I don’t know about that though he surely is better than subsequent Republican Presidents-his son and Trump.

Note that I wrote the chapter before the news of his passing but certainly while sad in human terms-all human beings eventually pass away and at least he had many years with his family-as I noted on the chapter on Reagan-only the truth hurts. If someone’s death were enough to expunge every bad thing they’d ever done you couldn’t criticize anyone as one day they too will die.

I understand the desire to find a Republican President you can actually say some decent things about and while I do believe he’s implicated in what was in fact a treasonous act-Iran collusion 1980-he certainly as a President-with a major asterisk next to his name-was better than what followed-his son, who was far better than what followed him-Trump.

And legitimately both he and Reagan had a much more humane position on immigration-night and day with today’s Trumpian GOP. Which means the GOP has fallen very far from then-which is saying a lot.
