Yes truth is stranger than fiction.

Paul Manafort’s Russian oligarch friend Oleg Deripaska is feeling the heat.

FN: In Chapter A we discuss the integral and central role Deripaska played in Russian collusion-he is believed to have been the direct link to Putin on the Russian side. If this is so-and it’s clear Deripaska was central to setting up Manafort’s  Russian Collusion meeting with Kiliminik on August 2, 2016-then the idea that there could be tapes proving Deripaska’s role is pretty important.

End of FN

In a new op-ed for the Daily Caller he lashes out at the ‘ever changing Russian narrative.’

In the comedy movie “Wag the Dog,” a fictitious U.S. president is on the cusp of losing an election over a real scandal. So a political spin doctor and Hollywood producer hired by his campaign instead distract the public by manufacturing “the appearance of a war” with Albania. The spin doctor explains: “It’s not a war, it’s a pageant. We need a theme, a song — some visuals.” The producer ascribes Albania a false motive against the United States: “They want to destroy our way of life!” The story line keeps changing to explain away emerging, inconvenient realities.

The ever-changing “Russia narrative” in American politics is today’s “Wag the Dog” scenario. Technology and the disintegration of evidence-based journalism permit a surprisingly small number of individuals to destroy bilateral or multilateral relations. Their motivation in shifting from an inconvenient reality into their desired reality is power and military-industrial commercial interests.”

So we have a Russian oligarch who worked with Manafort for 10 years to subvert democracy in the Ukraine opining on the state of American politics and finding our embattled democracy wanting-if it’s wanting a major reason for it is the Russian interference/collusion that he had a starring role in.

The narrative is not ‘ever changing’ but rather ever expanding as we learn more and bombshells pile up on new bombshells. And his analogy of ‘Wag the Dog’-which was based on the idea that a President-who was a composite basically of Bill Clinton-started a war to get news of his affair with an intern off the front page is much more apt for Trump himself than for those who oppose Trump-much less the so-called ‘deep state’; what Trump and his friends call the ‘deep state’ is essentially the rule of law.

Indeed, arguably Trump’s recent talk of sitting down with Kim Jong un without conditions was a case of ‘Wag the Dog’ with his own new sex scandal-Stormy Daniels.

But what drove this rant by Deripaska?

The heat has been turning up on Manafort and, so, his own role has become more publicized. However, the immediate spur might be that Deripaska has his own need of ‘Wag the Dog’; just as Bill Clinton had Monica Lewinsky, and just as Trump has Stormy Daniels-who seems to have the goods on Herr Trump-Deripaska has his own sex scandal with a so-called ‘seductress.’

FN: Of course in retrospect she did have the goods on him and is a large reason why today Trump is an unindicted co-conspirator-he did the crime but only Michael Cohen is serving the time.

FN: Place below-one of the many questions for Mueller he wouldn’t of course answer is did his investigation attempt to corroborate her story? Her plea for asylum wasn’t granted and she ended up in prison-finally recanting her story-likely to avoid staying in prison or worse for the rest of her life.

Mueller for his part likely wouldn’t have answered this question had the Judiciary Democrats asked him but he did reveal that the FBI counterintelligence into the Russian ties of Trump and his inner circle-and the question of wether or not he’s therefore a national security threat. So one reason he may not be able to speak to this is that it’s part of the ongoing counterintelligence investigation.

Adam Schiff clearly will want to see all this counter intel evidence. Hopefully at some point much of the information-while protecting sources and methods, etc-will be made public as we have a right to know. What could be more in the public interest than knowing the full truth about the subversion of American democracy?

And she is not fooling around, evidently. While Daniels seems to have the goods on so-called “President Trump’ so Anastasia Vashukevich  seems to have them on Deripaska. Indeed, no matter how ‘salacious’ her job very well may be her story is about a lot more than just sex, she claims to have proof of Russian interference in the 2016 US election.

“From behind bars in a sweltering immigration detention center in Bangkok, a self-styled “sex coach” who claims to have detailed insider knowledge of Russian meddling in the US election says she wants to cooperate with US investigators.”

The catch? She says the US government needs to grant her political asylum. Belarus-born Anastasia Vashukevich claims she has proof of Russian interference in the 2016 US election in the form of more than an hour of audio recordings and photos of meetings.

“I am ready to help with an investigation if they help us get out of here,” says the 21-year old.

None of the alleged recordings or photos of those meetings have been made public.

“They had a plan for the election,” says Vashukevich of the men.

They had a plan for the election. She claims to have the tapes.

“Vashukevich came into the spotlight after publishing footage from social media of a 2016 meeting on a private yacht between Deripaska and Russian deputy prime minister Sergey Prikhodko, during which the two men could be heard discussing Russia’s poor relationship with the United States.”

“While on the way to detention in Thailand, Vashukevich published a video on her Instagram account begging US journalists to help her.”

“I’m ready to give you all the missing puzzle pieces, support them with videos and audios, regarding the connections of our respected lawmakers with Trump, Manafort and the rest. I know a lot. I’m waiting for your offers and I’m waiting for you in a Thai prison,” she said.

So will there be takers? Is anyone from Mueller’s office, or any Democrats in Congress, or the media, going to take her up on her offer? Her footage of Deripaska and Prikhodko proves she does deliver.

“The claims made by Vashukevich and Kirillov might not normally hold much water.”

“Both describe themselves as free sex advocates whose Instagram feeds are full of scantily clad photos of themselves cavorting with other half-naked young women. But allegations and revelations of an affair Vashukevich made in her book “Diary of the Seduction of a Billionaire” gained traction thanks to an investigation by the Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny.

In his video, Navalny revealed that the un-named oligarch in the book was Russian industrialist Oleg Deripaska. Navalny highlighted social media posts from Vashukevich showing her next to Deripaska on a yacht alongside the Russian deputy prime minister Sergey Prikhodko.

Asked about Navalny’s investigation, Vashukevich told CNN “it was all correct.”

Meanwhile Vashukevich is being held longer in the Thai prison than typical for accused ‘seductresses.’

“In the Thai jail, Vashukevich and Kirillov looked uncomfortable and desperate. They said conditions were over-crowded and miserable. They relied on food brought in every other day by friends.”

The lawyer representing them says she was surprised at how long it was taking to deport the jailed “sex coaches.”

“Normally my clients are deported in one or two days,” said Elena Fominykh, a Russian-speaking legal advisor and private investigator based in Bangkok.

“On Monday, Ukrainian native Maria Skulbeda waited outside the detention center in the sweltering heat in the hopes of arranging an appointment to meet Kirillov and Vashukevich.”

The 21-year-old Skulbeda described Kirillov as a kind of sexual revolutionary, who teaches his followers a belief system of “freedom, sex and love” that revolves around the art of seduction.

You wonder if this has something to do with Russia’s influence. Maybe they are not being treated like those normally picked up for being ‘sex coaches.’

The arrests of the pair are a worrying turn for a group of Russian-speaking acolytes of Kirillov, author of books “Life Without Panties” and “The Game of Master and Huntress.”

The big fear is being deported back to Russia where people who get on the wrong side of Putin and friends have a way of turning up missing.

Now, Skulbeda fears what may happen if her friends are deported to Russia.

“First, they are in danger. Second, they have information, and third, we are afraid for their lives.”

Surely someone out there can help them and protect their information? As Rachel Maddow puts it stay tuned.

UPDATE: One of the many questions for Mueller he wouldn’t of course answer is did his investigation attempt to corroborate her story? Her plea for asylum wasn’t granted and she ended up in prison-finally recanting her story-likely to avoid staying in prison or worse for the rest of her life.

What could be more in the public interest than knowing the full truth about the subversion of American democracy?

As for the MSM’s Mueller fatigue how can you have fatigue when there has at yet been not one shred of accountability nor far from a full and comprehensive accounting of the theft of an American election?

What about all of us with fatigue with their fatigue? In 2016 they had Clinton fatigue-Chapter B. Now they have fatigue with the fact that the election was stolen from her.

What becomes more evident on a daily basis is how much the facts only matter to the ‘smart set’ to the extent that they confirm the narrative of this smart set.

The below perhaps belongs in a chapter of MSM criticism…

This is why they still think Trump’s racist tweets may be terribly offensive yet fiendishly effective-the fact that Trump’s evoking of the ‘caravan’ pre 2018 totally failed-he ended up losing by historic margins-is hand waved away-who cares about the truth in this case as it gets in the way of their narrative-that the Democrats should ignore Trump’s racism and make this about a bland, normal campaign over policies.

And this is a big problem with mainstream journalism today-facts are never enough, if the facts you marshal contradict their narrative these facts are ignored. It’s why there are always stories rediscovering the fact that, of course, the GOP doesn’t care about deficits-their argument is not against deficit spending per se but against deficit spending on Democratic priorities. Of course, even if there isn’t a huge deficit-even if there’s a surplus-they still oppose spending on the poor and middle class.

But the MSM narrative remains that the GOP is sincerely concerned about deficits-so the fact that Trump isn’t is treated as an aberration. Actually Bush W and Reagan were similar ‘aberrations.’ The fact that the last three GOP Presidents have ran up huge deficits is still not impressive enough evidence for the MSM to-change its narrative.

The fact that the last three GOP Presidents-including faux ‘President’ Trump-while both Democratic Administrations during this time has seen spending contract-the deficit did expand during the Great Recession under Obama both in 2011 he agreed to the sequester and starting then spending actually contracted-also demonstrates how feckless the Democratic party is-they never even attempt to change the narrative.

If the Savvy sets up absurd and unfalsifiable  narratives the Democrats meekly accept the narratives without a whimper-while they know they’re not true they evidently have no confidence in their ability to debunk them. If there’s any hope it’s that many of the new freshman Democrats appear quite different-particularly the woman of color-like Rashid Tlaib.

Jerrold Nadler was on Lawrence last night and he assured us that ‘nobody wants the President held accountable more than the Speaker does.’

Such assurances aren’t necessary for Tlaib.
