It’s time to impeach ‘President Trump’ before Rudy Giuliani totally normalizes treason.
If there has been a round of mea culpas from prominent reporters for not taking @HillaryClinton’s warnings more seriously I guess I missed it. pic.twitter.com/IrXVM3Kl8s

Very little chance @RepCummings and @RepAdamSchiff didn’t get a green light from @SpeakerPelosi before leaning forward a bit more on impeachment on today’s shows. Momentum among Democrats—and among legal elites—seems to be moving in the direction of opening the door to hearings.

By not acting on Trump’s obstruction, we tell the witnesses who gave SCO truthful information that truth doesn’t matter & isn’t worth it. And we send that same message to future witnesses in future investigations of powerful people. That’s just not the message we should send.

Finally a life long Republican is doing the right thing. Thank you for showing integrity. https://t.co/lckolNokTi

Words I never thought I'd utter: Joe Walsh is right and Nancy Pelosi is wrong. https://t.co/cMOUIwA4hZ

Good for @RepCummings. Equally relevant: History will condemn all who stand up for their careers or their party but abandon the Constitution and the country. This is a “where were you when” moment. Where were you and what did you do? Which side were you on? https://t.co/PH461796xi

Had you outlined this situation 5 years ago, with no party labels attached, there is nobody — not Barr, not Pelosi, not Nadler, not McConnell, not Graham, not the New York Times — who would’ve hesitated to say the president must be impeached. https://t.co/V6JFi4pvzY

It’s like people have decided that since Trump doesn’t care about criticism, people shouldn’t bother to express their disapproval as strongly as possible. They should. It’s important to make clear we do not accept what he’s doing.https://t.co/JNHGqoKQC2

Trump can’t make us lower our standards. Only we can do that.
— Jamison Foser (@jamisonfoser) April 21, 2019
Dems need to recognize that if they ignore the report's implicit call to begin an impeachment hearing, the agenda won't magically turn to health care. It will turn to revenge for the Russia investigation. https://t.co/uWcUfzjt0G https://t.co/jOXfN9idP3

Thanks for the tweet! So, as the Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, are you going to do anything about it? https://t.co/7RY7IRwzxw
— Mckayla Wilkes (@MeetMckayla) April 18, 2019
No one thinks Barr will resist. Again, sidestepping an impeachment debate won't allow Democrats to "pivot to health care" or whatever. Absent an impeachment debate we will have a debate about retribution for the Russia investigation. https://t.co/uWcUfzjt0G https://t.co/Pfkmj11K5J

Tumulty Take: He Should be Impeached so He Shouldn’t be Impeached
As the Mueller report's revelations start to sink in, @TimNaftali asks: "What kind of standard of character do you want in someone who represents the flag and the country?" https://t.co/ELE1fVkQpn
— Brian Stelter (@brianstelter) April 21, 2019
Has a single paper called for Trump's resignation yet? Per @jamisonfoser, we were at least several dozen deep in op-ed calls for Clinton's resignation after Lewinsky at this point. https://t.co/lBzeR8dZDF

You go Chairman Cummings! I've never been prouder of you thank you for your leadership!

Very true. He did a decent job but far from flawless. When there was any doubt he always erred on Trump and his kids favor. And how do you deny Trump sought to commit a crime-commission Russian hackers to hack Clinton's emails
— Expand the Court (@ProChoiceMike) April 21, 2019
As #Impeach takes root, let’s clarify:
1. This will damage Trumpism whether he is removed or not. The only thing that helps Trump is not impeaching.
2. Unlikely that Pence will take office, but if he does, he’ll be as weak as Ford ‘74.
3. It’s not about Russia. It’s about USA.
— Marc Eliot Stein (@asheresque) April 21, 2019
Very true, we could not try to impeach And loose and that would really be horrific.
— Wendy Klein (@klein_uubk) April 21, 2019
Impeachment would renders the presidential pardon powers moot against any charges brought against President Trump.
For that reason alone, Congress must #ImpeachTrump #SundayMorning #AMJoy https://t.co/OmjP5c9F7m

“Impeachment is about restoring honor and integrity to the office."
— @LindseyGrahamSC (from 1999) on that necessity of #ImpeachmentThis Graham guy nails it. Could not be more in agreement! https://t.co/zr70dGRg8H

Adam Schiff now says they are considering impeachment. Why? Because the base is getting demoralized https://t.co/YBy2BHQ8gv

That's when it gets to the Senate. The beauty of this is this is one thing Mitch McConnell CANT ignore-he HAS to take it up
— Expand the Court (@ProChoiceMike) April 21, 2019
Did you ever see a dream walking well I did
My friends @princessmom122 all I can say is TOUCHDOWN Though Chairman Schiff should drop the 'it will likely fail' part https://t.co/4QWpVD6eLS

It’s worth remembering how public opinion changed on Nixon’s impeachment.
A month into the Ervin Committee hearings, the percentage supporting Nixon's removal was still down in the teens.
A majority didn’t want him removed until late July 1974. He resigned two weeks later. pic.twitter.com/PwBqlhzqUx

We did see Trump lose 3 points in that Reuters poll 1st day after Mueller Report. Also-support for impeachment/resignation both increased. We'll have to see more polls to see if it's a trend https://t.co/I66NZujHND
