If you believe Jared’s Dad, Charles Kushner he met with Qatar’s finance minister just to turn down funds his struggling family business desperately needed-afterJared’s terrible investment in the 666 5th Avenue NYC building.  on the eve of the 2008 financial crisis.

But on this past Sunday, Kushner Industries admitted for the first time to meeting with the Qatari government.

“For the first time, the Kushner Companies admitted Sunday to meeting with Qatar’s finance minister in New York three months after President Donald Trump took office, but said no funds were exchanged or a deal struck.”

“Jared Kushner’s father, Charles, said the meeting took place but that if Qatari finance minister Ali Sharif al-Emadi and other representatives were ready to provide investment or funds to the real estate company it would not have been accepted, according to The Washington Post.”

“I was invited to a meeting,” he told the Post in a statement. “Before the meeting, Kushner Companies had decided that it was not going to accept sovereign wealth fund investments. We informed the Qatar representatives of our decision and they agreed. Even if they were there ready to wire the money, we would not have taken it.”

So what was the meeting about? Kushner claims that the Saudis invited him but they say he asked for the meeting. It’s hard to believe he requested the meeting just to tell them he wasn’t going to accept sovereign wealth funds. And why did he refuse to admit the meeting until now and why would he claim they asked for the meeting if it was his idea?

He took a plane all the way to Qatar just to ‘just say no’ to millions of dollars. why not email them if that’s all it was? Talk about not passing the laugh test

Call it the Kushner’s’ version of ‘I smoked but I didn’t inhale.’

Kushner Industries keeps getting into the news for the wrong reasons:

“Over the weekend, the company was also accused of filing falsified documents with New York City in order to move tenants out of buildings and flip them for a profit quicker, the Associated Press reported.

Meanwhile the bigger picture is just a month after this-allegedly uneventful-meeting, there was a blockade of Qatar by its Arab neighbors.

The Intercept totally contradicts Kushner’s rather implausible claim he didn’t want funds:

“THE REAL ESTATE firm tied to the family of presidential son-in-law and top White House adviser Jared Kushner made a direct pitch to Qatar’s minister of finance in April 2017 in an attempt to secure investment in a critically distressed asset in the company’s portfolio, according to two sources. At the previously unreported meeting, Jared Kushner’s father Charles, who runs Kushner Companies, and Qatari Finance Minister Ali Sharif Al Emadi discussed financing for the Kushners’ signature 666 Fifth Avenue property in New York City.

“The 30-minute meeting, according to two sources in the financial industry who asked not to be named because of the sensitivity of the potential transaction, included aides to both parties, and was held at a suite at the St. Regis Hotel in New York.”

“The failure to broker the deal would be followed only a month later by a Middle Eastern diplomatic row in which Jared Kushner provided critical support to Qatar’s neighbors. Led by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, a group of Middle Eastern countries, with Kushner’s backing, led a diplomatic assault that culminated in a blockade of Qatar. Kushner, according to reports at the time, subsequently undermined efforts by Secretary of State Rex Tillerson to bring an end to the standoff.”

So the failure to broker the deal-a deal Charles Kushner continues to deny he ever sought and supposedly actively didn’t want-correlates with the Qatar blockade just a month later in which the Trump WH took the side of Qatar’s neighbors who implemented the blockade. So there is an interesting correlation but is their causation?

Qatar itself was suspicious enough that it considered speaking to Mueller about it.

“On Friday afternoon, NBC News reported that in late January and early February, Qatari government officials visiting the U.S. “considered turning over to Mueller what they believe is evidence of efforts by their country’s Persian Gulf neighbors in coordination with Kushner to hurt their country.”

“The Gulf crisis involving Qatar and its neighbors will likely be Kushner’s defining foreign policy legacy. The crisis followed a May visit to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, by Kushner and President Donald Trump, who subsequently took credit for Saudi Arabia and its allies’ efforts against Qatar. The fallout has reshaped geopolitical alliances in the region, splitting the Gulf Cooperation Council and pushing Qatar, home to the Middle East’s largest U.S. military base, closer to Turkey and Iran.”

Mueller himself has taken this possibility seriously enough that his team spoke with Turkish nationals regarding it:

“Federal investigators are scrutinizing whether any of Jared Kushner’s business discussions with foreigners during the presidential transition later shaped White House policies in ways designed to either benefit or retaliate against those he spoke with, according to witnesses and other people familiar with the investigation.”

“Special counsel Robert Mueller’s team has asked witnesses about Kushner’s efforts to secure financing for his family’s real estate properties, focusing specifically on his discussions during the transition with individuals from Qatar and Turkey, as well as Russia, China and the United Arab Emirates, according to witnesses who have been interviewed as part of the investigation into possible collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign to sway the 2016 election.

As part of the scrutiny of Kushner’s discussions with Turks, federal investigators have reached out to Turkish nationals for information on Kushner through the FBI’s legal attache office in Ankara, according to two people familiar with the matter. Separately, Qatari government officials visiting the U.S. in late January and early February considered turning over to Mueller what they believe is evidence of efforts by their country’s Persian Gulf neighbors in coordination with Kushner to hurt their country, four people familiar with the matter said. The Qatari officials decided against cooperating with Mueller for now out of fear it would further strain the country’s relations with the White House, these people said.”

As Vanity Fair’s Bess Levin recently argued Jared may soon be working at TGIF’s-if they’ll have him.

Sure-assuming he doesn’t go-as Steve Bannon put it-to prison for ‘Russia related matters.’

UPDATE: There hadn’t been much in the news about Jared Kushner-or for that matter Donald Jr-in the news lately-until the issue of him getting security clearance despite his application being rejected-which has led Ken Dilanian and his similarly savvy friends at the Church of the Savvy-aka the MSM-to presume that Mueller has nothing on Kushner. But he potentially has a great deal of exposure.

So much of Trump’s foreign policy-especially in the Middle East is being run by Jared. It’s pretty clear that Kushner was pushing hard to absolve MBS of wrongdoing in the assassination of the Washington Post based journalist, Khashoggi.

We saw in this chapter the extent to which Kushner’s own family financial interests could have been instrumental in Trump’s disastrous support for the blockade against Qatar.

Then again, Kushner was also at the Trump Tower Russia meeting with Donald Jr and Manafort in June, 2016 and was at yet another Treason meeting at Trump Tower with Michael Flynn on December 1, 2016 where he asked the Russian diplomat Kisylak about a back channel with Russia inside the Russian embassy.

There were several calls between Sergey Kislyak, Russia’s ambassador to the U.S., and Trump campaign officials Jared Kushner and Michael Flynn prior to Election Day, according to Reuters. In a statement before his closed-door appearance before the Senate Intelligence Committee in July, Kushner said he had no recollection of these calls. Kushner initially failed to list dozens of contacts with foreign officials on his security-clearance form, and was recently stripped of his temporary top-secret clearance.”

Sounds like perjury-which is clear from Cohen’s sentence, Mueller takes seriously. Or does the MSM presume Mueller will excuse perjury about a material matter because it’s the illegitimate ‘President’s son in law?

None dare call it treason. Except them.
