Everyone who chanted Lock Her Up is getting locked up: Michael Cohen serving 3 year term; Manafort 7 and a half & counting-pending state charges; Michael Flynn may be facing real time too; Now Stone standing to serve up to 20 years; Karma’s a Bitch, God’s a Woman and She’s pissed

OTOH Stone-and Manafort-have real information that would sink Trump-Stone and Corsi have it on Comeygate. If the prospect of serious prison time changed his mind maybe Stone could trade the goods away in exchange-though it appears he and Manafort are playing for a pardon

Interesting first HuffPost article by HA Goodman

https://thedailybanter.com/2018/04/23/ha-goodman-now-supports-trump/

The irony of this is that when Goodman first started blogging on Huffington in early 2014, he and his articles appeared tethered to reality. One of his first pieces, “The Republican Strategy Against Hillary Clinton in 2016,” is so level-headed that you almost can’t believe he wrote it. While it isn’t an endorsement of Clinton per se, it does outline all the ways Republicans will try to attack her, from spreading myths about Benghazi to attacking her mental health, which sound benign compared to the things he would say about her years later. This changed in November of that year when he wrote the first of his pieces aimed at the middle of Jean-Pierre Faye’s horseshoe, titled, “I’m a Liberal Democrat. I’m Voting for Rand Paul in 2016. Here’s Why,” his first step down the road to madness.

Here is the article

Does it feel like winning when you can’t go outside the White House, a property you own, or a carefully vetted yahoo rally without being mocked, ridiculed, and loudly booed? Does it feel like winning when you sense the grim karmic justice of “lock her up” coming back to haunt you? The chanting at the World Series brought home something even your tiny lizard brain can understand; actions have consequences, even for you.

Each of these three arguments treats the 2016 result as sacrosanct, but the final claim is a bit more subtle: The American people chose Donald Trump and the only way to litigate that choice is in the next election. Anything else is an attack on democracy. The problems with this are endless. To start, impeachment is part of the constitutional structure, specifically created to deal with presidential misbehavior, including corrupt attempts to solicit foreign influence on elections.

Then there’s the secondary but still important fact that there’s no way Trump or his supporters can honestly claim the support of “the people.” Trump is president despite the wishes of the public. Voters did not want him in the White House, but our state-based system for choosing presidents — where the geographic distribution of your supporters is more important than the number you have — gave him a victory. As president, he has yet to earn a majority of the public’s support and in the last national election, his party suffered a decisive defeat, losing the lower chamber of Congress. At this moment, a majority of Americans support the impeachment inquiry. Trump is the legitimate president of the United States, but the idea that he represents “the people” — and that the investigation is an assault on their will — is untenable.

Agree with Bouie on everything here except the part that Trump is legitimate. No we can’t grant even that. Because of the foreign influence Bouie references that Trump colluded with-despite the fact that Trump and his GOP co-conspirators wrongly claim Mueller found no collusion and despite the MSM’s failure to call out this lie-and for that matter the influence of the rogue anti Clinton FBI agents Trump’s ‘win’  in fact lacks legitimacy.

So Trump and his GOP co-conspirators whole frame is more gaslighting of the public-wrongly claiming impeachment-which is Constitutional and created by the Framers-oveturns an election that in this case wasn’t legitimate in the first place-making the lies even more galling.
