As I argued in the previous chapter, too many in the MSM still need to turn the telescope the right side up on the issue of bias at the FBI.

https://lastmenandovermen.com/2018/06/17/dont-be-misled-by-strozk-furor-2016-fbi-was-trumpland/

Ok so Strozk has some anti Trump texts but what do you imagine that the rogue anti Clinton agents over at the NYPD were saying about her in their text messages? This is why I share Seth Abramson’s worry:

That is notable-all the leaks benefit Trump’s narrative. I mean when you hear all about the anti Trump texts the question that begs is where are all the text messages of those who hated Clinton that gave the FBI the name Trumpland during the election?

Turning the telescope up means factoring in that whatever Strozk and Lisa Page may have texted to each other, at the end of the day the FBI’s actions gave the election to Trump. It’s not at all clear what Strozk actually did to hurt Trump. His actions on the Russia probe-reducing the number of agents aware of the probe-actually slowed it down-which helped Trump.

FN: It’s true Strozk wanted to expand the probe but the actions he actually took to protect it was to limit the number of agents on it-which hurt it.

Then regarding the Comey letter, Strozk actually helped write it. The IG report does speculate that Strozk may have tried to hurt Trump by delaying the release of the information about Clinton-Huma Abedin emails found on Anthony Weiner’s laptop in late September. To this theory all I can say is once again turn the telescope up. The delaying of the release of this information hurt Clinton. She would have been much better off if this information was going to come to light-and quit arguably it should not have at all based on the 60 day rule for elections-that it came out in late September not late October as it would have likely not caused quite the furor and whatever furor it did cause would have gone through the electoral bloodstream by election day.

This why when on the subject of the timing of the release of the information on the emails I’ve always presumed it was the anti Clinton agents who timed it that way certainly not anyone trying to help her. Speaking of which it now emerges that Devin Nunes knew of the emails in late SeptemberIn other words, the rogue FBI agents leaked it to him almost immediately.

“In light of the fact that the Inspector General’s report ignored the questions about anti-Clinton bias in the FBI’s New York field office and questions about whether Comey’s actions were driven by fears of leaks from that same office, this seems highly relevant. Last night on Fox News, Rep. Devin Nunes explained that in late September 2016, “good FBI agents” came to him and told him they’d found the Weiner laptop with Huma Abedin’s emails with Secretary Clinton.”

“Note that the reference to late September 2016 makes it clear that the agents in question basically went to Nunes and other Capitol Hill Republicans immediately after they found the laptop.”

Josh Marshall is right-it’s surreal that we’re discussing Strozk 24/7 but that’s due in part that the IG report doesn’t discuss the famous Trumplandia Conspiracy.

Evidently, however, the IG is going to release a report on the pro Trump rogue agents-though when is a good question.

UPDATE: It was in mid June that we discovered Nunes’s role and yet here we are almost a year later and there’s been no word from IG about the promised separate report on leaks by rogue agents as well as no recent public requests from the Democrats about the status of this promised but not delivered report.

Again is there a reason for this timing-the narrative Trump isn’t interested in perpetuating gets the backend?

Meanwhile, Devin Nunes has the gall to demand answers-and make threats-for information on Peter Strozk.

For his part Strozk says he’s willing to testify before the House Judiciary Committee.

But while Nunes is threatening ‘hell to pay’ on Strozk’s texts he knows full well about the rogue pro Trump FBI agents-he worked with them. And Strozk may have talked a good game in text messages but the rogue Trump agents did much more than talk-they took actions that clearly did defeat Clinton.

1. The leaks on the emails on Weiner’s laptop. Another receiving these leaks from these rogue agents was Eric Prince:

2. They started a Clinton Foundation probe based on a piece of journalistic filth like Clinton Cash.

3. For a bonus Andy McCabe leaked word of this probe on October 31, 2016 and yet he’s portrayed as a pro Clinton stooge by Trump and his GOP friends.

Regarding Strozk while Bob Goodlatte and friends are threatening a warrant, he’s totally willing to testify voluntarily:

“House Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte started his committee’s process on Friday to issue a subpoena for Strzok to testify as part of the House GOP investigation into the FBI’s actions in the 2016 election, two sources familiar with the subpoena told CNN on Friday.”

“Strzok’s lawyer, Aitan Goelman, called Goodlatte’s pursuit of a warrant “wholly unnecessary.” Goelman wrote in the letter obtained by CNN that his client “has been fully cooperative with the DOJ Office of Inspector General” and “intends to voluntarily appear and testify before your committee and any other Congressional committee that invites him.”

Goelman told CNN on Sunday that “Pete is central to this story. We should let the American people see who he really is.”

Amen. I’m actually all for Strozk testifying so long as it’s publicly and we don’t just get dribs and drabs via more selective GOP leaks.

“Trump also echoed House Oversight Chairman Rep. Trey Gowdy’s Fox News interview earlier Sunday, tweeting that Strzok’s behavior was “the highest level of bias I’ve ever witnessed in any law enforcement officer.” Trump called it a “sick deal” that Strzok and Page worked for “Slippery” former FBI director Jim Comey and that Comey was “best friends” with Mueller.”

Really? Well let’s see the texts of the agents who leaked word of the emails to Devin Nunes in late September?

UPDATE 2,0: When the transcripts of Strozk’s testimony actually came out far from corroborating the GOP narrative it debunked it.
