Remember who this is-this is the guy whose client Raj Rajaratnam got the biggest fine for insider trading in history and then responded to questions from reporters with a curt ‘F- You!’

New Trump lawyer John Dowd represented insider trading defendant Raj Rajaratnam, who was convicted on all counts. Here's how Dowd behaved. https://t.co/7Rbl5kjwbD

Not surprisingly this is the guy Trump wants representing him. Yesterday morning post the vindictive 11th hour firing of Andy McCabe, Dowd declared it’s time to end the Mueller probe:
“President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer, John Dowd, told The Daily Beast on Saturday morning that he hopes Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein will shut down special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into Russia’s election interference.”
“Reached for comment by email about the firing of former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe, Dowd sent The Daily Beast the text of Trump’s most recent tweet on the subject, which applauded the dismissal.”
“I pray that Acting Attorney General Rosenstein will follow the brilliant and courageous example of the FBI Office of Professional Responsibility and Attorney General Jeff Sessions and bring an end to alleged Russia Collusion investigation manufactured by McCabe’s boss James Comey based upon a fraudulent and corrupt Dossier,” Dowd then wrote.
“In making the statement, a senior member of Trump’s legal team joins the calls from his base to end the probe. As late as mid-December, another Trump lawyer, Ty Cobb, had brushed aside talk of stopped Mueller’s investigation, stressing that there was “no consideration at the White House of terminating the special counsel.” The president himself has called the Mueller probe a “witch hunt,” but has not publicly urged Rosenstein to shutter it.”
But, of course, he’s trying to have it both ways. Is he speaking for himself or the Trump WH?
“When The Daily Beast initially asked Dowd if he was speaking on behalf of the president, he answered, “Yes as his counsel.” After publication of this story, however, Dowd emailed to say he was actually speaking in his personal capacity, and not on the president’s behalf.”
“The White House did not immediately return a request for comment.”
Which is dubious in itself. Can the so-called President’s counsel really have it both ways and get to speak in his own capacity in a way that directly bears on relevant Presidential legal matters?
After Dowd called for-but only in his ‘own personal capacity’ the end of the Mueller investigation-Trump increased the drumbeat against Mueller.
Trump is neither subtle nor intelligent. His dishonest tweets are now overtly laying the groundwork for Mueller's firing. And this effort began the moment he found out the questions Mueller plans to ask him at a future interview. Trump's guilt could not be more painfully obvious. https://t.co/2S3PGOde17

Trump’s lawyers have now seen some questions from Mueller’s team and you suspect this has a lot to do with it:
Trump tweets slamming Mueller follow news of his organization being subpoenaed, his campaign data firm Cambridge Analytica being exposed, and his lawyers receiving questions from Mueller’s team.

In other words what we seem to have here is a coordinated attack against the Mueller investigation.
This is Trump’s first public attack on the Russia probe naming *Mueller.*
It comes amidst an apparently coordinated escalation against the probe, as Mueller bears down on Trump Org, and suggests those who previously stopped Trump from trying to remove Mueller may have less sway https://t.co/nOOmMfpEzL

I believe that the pressure is getting to Trump-Mueller’s questions for the interview, his investigation of Trump Organization, the news about Cambridge Analytica. I also think he may be feeling even more arrogant post firing McCabe.
Lindsay Graham said the right thing today-but what is his word worth these days?
BREAKING: Lindsey Graham today on if Trump tries to fire Robert Mueller: “If he tried to do that, that would be the beginning of the end of his presidency. We are a rule-of-laws nation. "@LindseyGrahamSC, America is holding you to this statement!

Hope we never have to put these words to the test.
UPDATE: Dowd actually quit soon after as he felt Trump wasn’t taking his advice.
Mueller was never fired though it remains an open question if the investigation was shutdown early as we discuss in Chapter A.
Lindsay Graham has only gotten worse with every passing day.
