He was on Ari Melber’s show on Wednesday night and made news: Mueller had invited him to a voluntary interview and he’d said no. Maybe someone in Mueller’s office was watching Melber because the very next day Melber himself broke the news that Credico has now been subpoenaed to an involuntary interview.
“Special Counsel Robert Mueller has told Roger Stone pal and radio host Randy Credico he will be subpoenaed for an interview after refusing to accept a voluntary offer from federal agents.”
“MSNBC’s Ari Melber broke the news in an exclusive report Thursday evening, roughly 24 hours after speaking with Credico on the air the night before, when he revealed Mueller’s team asked him to talk in New York.”
“They actually didn’t call me in,” he said. “They actually showed up and that asked me to come in and do a personal voluntary interview, which I did not.”
Credico said the request was made by “somebody from [Mueller’s] investigation, and that “they asked my lawyer if I would like to go down and do a voluntary interview, and he said no.”
“I didn’t get a subpoena,” he clarified. “They asked me for a voluntary interview.”
As S.E. Hinton would put it that was then and this is now.
This brings the tally to three people connected to Stone to have been subpoenaed the last week.

UPDATE: Stone’s friend, Kristen Davis-aka the Manhattan Madam-who is one of the three Trump associates subpoenaed this week is testifying before Mueller’s grand jury today.
“The former “Manhattan Madam” and political protege of President Donald Trump‘s informal advisor Roger Stone is set to testify Friday before a grand jury in special counsel Robert Mueller‘s Russia probe, NBC News reported.”
“Stone told an NBC reporter that the former madam, Kristin Davis, is appearing before the grand jury “voluntarily” and that he has “not discussed her testimony with her.” Stone added that he is “certain she will testify truthfully.”
“Davis, 41, who said she had supplied prostitutes to then-New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer, was subpoenaed by Mueller last month as part of his probe into Russian meddling in the 2016 U.S. presidential election. Davis had said through her lawyer that she was cooperating with the special counsel, while noting that “I don’t have anything” to offer regarding “information on Russian collusion.”
“She also met last week with members of Mueller’s team. Stone told CNBC last Friday that “She knows nothing about alleged Russian Collusion, WikiLeaks collaboration or any other impropriety related to the 2016 election which I thought was the subject of this probe.”
“Davis is just one of a handful of Stone-connected figures who have been contacted by the special counsel in the course of the investigation. The New York Times reported in June that Andrew Miller, a former aide who worked for Stone in the run-up to the 2016 Republican National Convention, had been subpoenaed to appear before the grand jury.”
“Miller was reportedly Davis’ campaign manager during her failed 2010 bid in New York’s gubernatorial race. Davis told NBC that she began working with Stone, who reportedly helped her campaign pro bono, during that race.”
“Other onetime associates of Stone, including Michael Caputo and Sam Nunberg, have discussed their interactions with the special counsel.”
“It remains unclear what information Mueller seeks from Davis. The special counsel’s office did not immediately respond to CNBC’s request for comment.”
Ok, back to Randy Credico.
On Wednesday night Credico kept categorically insisting that Assange didn’t get the emails from the Russians. How he knows this beyond a shadow of a doubt he doesn’t say. He totally glosses over the evidence of Wikileaks telling Guccifer 2.0 when to drop the DNC emails and all the evidence Assange was in the tank for Trump-and the GOP.
The Day Trump Said ‘Russia if You’re Listening’ Was the Day the Hacking of Clinton Associates Began
Credico’s only premise behind insisting it wasn’t the Russians seems to be because you have to believe anything Assange says. You wonder if Credico is aware of when Assange claimed to have Clinton’s deleted emails.
When Melber pushed him on wether Russia was behind interference, Credico used an argument Trump previously tried: no way was it really 17 intel agencies behind the finding-it was really just the two or three main ones-FBI, CIA, DNI-with the others along for the ride. That’s the best he can do?
As for what this subpoena means it could be argued that it shows at least Credico is not a target of Mueller though if he insists that Russia wasn’t behind it to Mueller you wonder if he could be charged with perjury.
Roger Stone himself has admitted he may be indicted soon and this rounding up of his associates we’ve seen recently points in that direction. Stone claims he hasn’t been asked for an interview which is consistent with the idea that he’s actually a target of the investigation.
“In an interview with Chuck Todd on NBC’s Meet the Press on Sunday, Stone, a longtime Republican operative and informal adviser to President Donald Trump, said he is “prepared” for a potential indictment from Mueller as part of the ongoing investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election and potential collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.”
“Stone also said he and his lawyer haven’t yet had contact with Mueller’s office, but he can’t say he’s free and clear. Reuters reported this week hthat Mueller has subpoenaed two of Stone’s aides — John Kakanis, who has worked as a driver, accountant, and operative for Stone, and Jason Sullivan, a social media expert. Stone on Sunday said that at least eight of his current or former associates have been contacted by Mueller’s team — or, in his words, “terrorized.”
“I don’t know if I’m an interesting person or a person of interest,” Stone said when asked by Todd whether he was preparing to be indicted. He said he can “guarantee” investigators haven’t found evidence of Russian collusion or trafficking of the WikiLeaks. (The investigation isn’t over yet; we still don’t know what Mueller has and hasn’t found.)
A person of interest is one thing. Then again a subject of the investigation is another; yet another is a target. Target is the worst as it means you could be going to jail. By the way, Clinton was never a subject of the Comey investigation-technically, there was no target-a fact that Comey himself seemed himself confused about.
Then, in June, it emerged that while denying for almost 20 months he’d ‘never met any Russian nationals during the campaign or anyone identifiably Russian’ it turned out that Roger Stone was lying. Shocking as that might be…
“Meanwhile, last week, The Washington Post reported that Stone met with a Russian figure, who identified himself as Henry Greenberg, offering to sell Stone dirt on Clinton for $2 million. Stone reportedly told Greenberg that Trump doesn’t “pay for anything.”
“Stone and Trump campaign adviser Michael Caputo, who organized the meeting, did not disclose it in their earlier interviews with the House Intelligence Committee. It was eventually described in a pair of letters sent to the committee last Friday, and Mueller is also said to be scrutinizing it.”
While Stone is clearly trying to minimize it-‘Trump doesn’t pay for anything’ why then did he deny it-thereby committing perjury before Congress? And the quid pro quo with Trump and Russia was never about Trump paying for interference but through policy concessions-taking away the sanctions, opposing Nato, allowing Putin sway in Crimea and in Syria.
In any way at this point it seems clear that soon it will be Roger Stone’s time in the barrel.
UPDATE: Stone ended up being indicted for perjury-in falsely claiming that Credico not Corsi was his intermediary to Assange who it turns out Stone did coordinate with Wikileaks.
The Hill Reporter has more on Credico’s subpoena and what this means for Stone:
“It appears as though the the special counsel’s office has been concentrating heavily on Trump advisor Roger Stone, likely looking at whether or not Stone participated in a conspiracy to violate the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act when he may have helped propagate data that he was not authorized to access.”
“If Stone worked with Julian Assange and Wikileaks, along with Russian hacker Guccifer 2.0 to obtain or help propagate stolen emails from the DNC, Stone and members of the Trump campaign, as high up as the President himself, may have violated federal law.”
“Last week it was reported that the “Manhattan Madam” Kristin Davis, had volunteered to sit down with those representing the special counsel’s office. Davis was a close associate of Stone and investigators believe that she may have information regarding Stone’s behavior that may help them conclude whether or not he has violated the law.”
“Now investigators appear to be ready to issue a subpoena to Randy Credico, another associate of Stone, who according to Stone himself was the middleman between him and Assange.”
“MSNBC’s Ari Melber has reported that Robert Mueller intends to subpoena Credico shortly, after Credico refused a request to voluntarily sit down with investigators from the special counsel’s office.”
“The last thing that I would like to be known as is a rat,” Credico said. “I didn’t talk to the House committee and I’m not going to talk to the Senate committee.”
“Credico is likely an important link between Stone and Assange, and his testimony could help determine if Stone did in fact work with Wikileaks and Assange in order to help release stolen emails from the DNC.
Credico has continually insisted that he didn’t-though how he knows this he never says.”
“Stone claims that he has urged Credico to be open and honest about everything. Stone has also suggested in the past that he expects to be indicted.”
UPDATE: Actually Stone did everything he could to intimidate and discourage Credico from testifying that he was not Stone’s intermediary.
One example of Stone violating the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act was his giving the Democratic voter files Guccifer 2.0 hacked to Alan Nevins. I wrote about this myself back in May 2017
