With reports out that Speaker Pelosi told senior Dems she’d like to see Trump in prison and she's is clashing with Nadler over launching impeachment proceedings, please read my take on what Pelosi's thinking, because it's kind of turning into a primer. .https://t.co/c2OFWW599r
— Amee Vanderpool (@girlsreallyrule) June 6, 2019
She won’t win against her party or base, in the unlikely event no progress is made towards the inquiry, before the end of the year. The pressure will become untenable, even for Pelosi. Last I heard only 1/5 of the House was on board, thus far.
— CA Stan (@BalancedDogs) June 6, 2019
Dear Nancy Pelosi: Trump is beginning to sink in the polls in deep red America.
Please have impeachment kicked off so the GOP can't claim they weren't trying to defend Trump before he became an anvil around the Senate's neck.

The debate remains: 1. Pelosi is a brilliant political strategist engaged in 11 dimensional chess 2. She's a congenital impeachment phobe who really believes that the Dems are assured victory UNLESS THEY IMPEACH FUHRER TRUMP
— Expand the Court (@ProChoiceMike) June 5, 2019
What this boils down to is that people like @RepStephenLynch are engaged in an exercise of unparalleled groupthink. It's stunning to witness intelligent people convince themselves that *actually* it is good for a president to get impeached. It's really quite something.

The truth is that having close to 40% of the country already supporting impeaching the 'President' while we've had 1 public hearing in 30 months so far-Cohen March-is pretty impressive as a starting point. It's unimpressive only if you presume these #s are totally static

Very good piece by Alternet though even they fall into the canard that ‘impeachment will likely fail’-wrong! Even if there’s no ultimate conviction and removal that doesn’t mean ‘impeachment has failed’ impeachment is simply a vote by the House to indict-if it has the votes to pass it’s already succeeded if McConnell and Friends abdicate their roles to protect Trump that doesn’t somehow mean impeachment ‘failed.’

https://www.cnbc.com/2019/05/15/jerry-nadler-probably-not-headed-for-impeachment-but-trump-makes-it-difficult-to-avoid.html
Jerry Nadler: The president can be impeached only if two things, only for misuse of presidential power while president or for cheating in the election that gave him the presidency. Other than that, if he did something terrible before he was president, he robbed the bank, that’s not impeachable. It’s a crime, but it’s not impeachable.
Agree 100% with the Chairman as far as that goes.
John Harwood: Do you believe he’s committed crimes while in office?
Jerry Nadler: Yes I do. Mueller lays out very strong evidence of a number of obstructions of justice. Those are crimes. Yes, of course he did.
John Harwood: I wonder if the larger idea is that Democrats think that Donald Trump is a con man, and they are justified in finding ways to get a con man out of office.
Jerry Nadler: I would very much oppose that point of view. Donald Trump is a con man. He is thoroughly dishonest. He lies all the time. We know that. None of those are grounds for impeachment.
This however, I disagree with-as Yoni Applebaum tells us maladministration is an impeachable offense. If Trump’s being a conman amounts to maladministration there’s a case for it.
Though I agree that the most important a central reason Trump needs to be impeached is: he cheated in the election that gave him the ‘Presidency’
The Dem leaders tell us that they don't want to impeach just hold public hearings. Yet they have held 0 public hearings post release of the Mueller Report and 1 since they were sworn in https://t.co/aXAketHOQT

It’s taken as simply canonical by the MSM that impeachment is bad for Democrats.
Democrats know that impeachment is a losing proposition against President Donald Trump right now.”
How can you know this for a fact as it’s a mere-dubious-political conjecture? The MSM treats it’s own bad narratives as a fact. And as usual it’s really ill serving the country. Many folks are hopelessly confused.
This poll by Reuters actually contradicts the narrative that impeaching illegitimate ‘President Trump’ is terribly unpopular-please don’t impeach President Trump we are so in love with the Fuhrer you see.
The number of Americans who said President Donald Trump should be impeached rose 5 percentage points to 45 percent since mid-April, while more than half said multiple congressional probes of Trump interfered with important government business, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Thursday..”
Yet if you try to understand public opinion based on this poll it’s a hopeless muddle
The latest poll showed stronger support for impeachment among Democrats and independents.
It also showed that 57 percent of adults agreed that continued investigations into Trump would interfere with important government business. That included about half of all Democrats and three-quarters of all Republicans.
After a nearly two-year investigation by Special Counsel Robert Mueller of Trump and Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. election, House Democrats are pursuing multiple inquiries into Trump’s presidency, his family and his business interests.
Trump is stonewalling at least a half-dozen such inquiries, refusing to disclose his tax returns, invoking executive privilege to keep the unredacted Mueller report under wraps and filing unprecedented lawsuits to block House investigators.
“It’s becoming a circus over there” in Washington, said Fatima Alsrogy, 36, a T-shirt designer from Dallas who took the poll. “There are so many more important things the country needs to pay attention to right now.”
Alsrogy, an independent, thinks Trump should be impeached. Yet she also wishes lawmakers would do more to improve the healthcare system for self-employed people like her.
So impeach Trump though investigating him is a distraction?!
Does Alsrogy believe that impeachment is a one day vote? Spoiler alert it’s not-and it would not mean less time on investigating Trump-if anything it would require more but better targeted. That an impeachment inquiry would distract is a feature not a bug-almost any active policy he takes an interest in will be horrible for the country. Indeed, the real problem with ACA is being caused by Trump and Coverup AG Barr.
I certainly both emphasize and sympathize with Ms. Alsorgy’s anxiety over healthcare. But the MSM is lying to her-the reason something isn’t being done about it, the reason policy isn’t getting done on much of anything isn’t because the Democrats are investigating ‘President Trump’ but because of Mitch McConnell who has put all the legislation Pelosi has sent him in a closet somewhere.
2. The reason no policy is getting done isn't because the Democrats are investigating Trump but because Mitch McConnell puts all the legislation Pelosi send him in a closet somewhere

It actually did find collusion. If it really exonerated this fake 'President' he and his GOP co-conspirators wouldn't be opposed to Mueller testifying
— Expand the Court (@ProChoiceMike) May 10, 2019
I mean Ted Cruz is the partisan hack who shutdown the government for a publicity stunt and he’s concerned about governing? That the MSM repeats this canard all day just shows how badly it is failing-it’s got regular Americans believing such patent nonsense.
Strange that it was just last week that we were told the number was 29% and we had a raft of thinkpieces and cable panels discussing the danger of impeachment https://t.co/l4EW8cQgwZ
— Seth Abramson (@SethAbramson) May 10, 2019
So will all these think pieces and cable panels adjust their narrative? Of course not-what matters for the MSM isn’t the truth but their narrative. If the facts contradict the narrative then the facts must be wrong.
With all the false equivalence-by the Dem leaders as much as anyone-between Trump and Clinton what has been totally forgotten is that Clinton and the GOP actually got a lot of stuff passed-remember triangulation?
Arguably liberals would have been happier had they gotten less done-much of it was about ‘ending the era of big government’ etc.
But wether you liked the bills they passed-much of it liberals didn’t love-it certainly puts the lie to the idea that you can’t pass legislation with a President while on another track you are trying to destroy him by any means necessary.
